Opening Hours: On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the observation wheel is open from 1:00 PM to 10:30 PM. For the rest of the week, it’s open from 2:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Biscayne National Park

What it is: The majority of this park’s area is submerged underwater. That’s why you can only access its islands and reefs by boat.

In the Biscayne Bay Lagoon, you’ll find turtles, pelicans, and dolphins. The park also gives a deep insight into human history with evidence of shipwrecks and prehistoric tribes.

Opening Hours: The visitor centre is open every day from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM except on holidays. Convoy Point is open daily from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. On holidays, it’ll be open from 12:00 PM instead.

You can access the ocean regions of the park all year and at any time of the day. In all cases, it’s safer to check the updates on operating hours before leaving for emergency announcements.

Skyward Kites

What it is: Thirty years ago, Skyward Kites opened its doors to kite enthusiasts, offering windsocks, wind spinners, and an extensive collection of kites to choose from. It still operates today at Haulover Park in Miami.

Miami Children’s Museum

What it is: This nonprofit museum is an educational institute offering programs, exhibitions, and learning materials focusing on multicultural communities. The museum’s 56,500-square-foot building was designed by an award-winning firm, so it’s specifically designed with children in mind.

It has 17 galleries, a large auditorium, and a special educational gift shop. There’s also a dedicated preschool for children aged five or younger, in addition to a charter school welcoming older age groups.

Why we liked it: Michimu, the museum’s unique mascot, is ever present at almost all events, making them lively and attractive to the little kids. Everyone is invited to his birthday in September, so mark your calendar!
